Mexican Clothing Exporters Make a Comeback
After a few bumpy months, Mexican clothing exporters are now planning to re-enter the U.S. by targeting niche markets and offering U.S. customers more contemporary clothing.
According to Global Apparel Markets, a publication from Textiles Intelligence, a vast amount of the garment market in the U.S. has been dominated by China. In 2000, Mexico was the largest clothing supplier to the U.S., but by 2004 American buyers were able to acquire more clothing at lower prices due to the termination of quotas...now however, recent economic hardships in the U.S. have provided Mexican exports an avenue to revive their once flourishing clothing market.
